Date: 23rd November 2005 Location: Novotel, Leeds
This event gave sports the chance to attend a series of bespoke presentations from some of the UKs leading experts in educational learning. Representatives from the Open University, Emedit and Epic Group as well as from specialist production companies dealing with DVD/Video and Audio learning were in attendance to aid sports in this area.
Key aims for the event were to:
- To explore how we can encourage and support learning through the enhanced design of our resources and the techniques we can employ
- To provide sports with cutting edge information on resource design which they can apply to their learning resource developments
- Ensure sports were given expert advice from leading specialists to enable the production of efficient, quality resources
- For sports to understand better the key principles for resource development
The day was split into two conspicous halves. In the morning Alan Parkinson from the Open University gave a presentation on Distance Learning.ppt, employing the knowledge and experience of the nationally reknowned institution to support sports and demonstrate how resources are designed to meet the needs of the learners, from the process of development to audit and design specifics and how sports can apply these things to their environments/structure.
This was followed by Steve Bardon of Epic Group plc who presented on Integrated Delivery providing the delegates with the theory and practice of 'Blended Learning' and drawing on previous experiences with clients such as the Football Association.
