Resource Development Forum - 'DVD design and development'
Date: 8th Feb 06
Location: Novotel, Leeds
Building on previous forums around resource design & development, a tailored day was delivered at the UKCC Forum on February 8th in Loughborough to suit each sport in attendance who are in the planning stage for DVD production. The day was designed to further enhance understanding of key learning principles and techniques and how these can apply to the design of DVDs. A look at current DVDs on the market from both within the sport and the coach education market and from other industries, and how the different techniques are employed to enhance learning. Through making use of text, graphics, voice overs, slow motion etc the group explored how these techniques can be blended to create a quality learning resource which meets the needs of the viewer and the sport. There was also the opportunity to discuss individual developments with sports coach UK staff and the production companies in attendance focusing on areas such as storyboard developments, logistics and planning for filming days. The feedback from the event was extremely positive, with the tailored support to the sports at a similar stage of development seen as very beneficial and warmly welcomed.
