Workforce Development
In order to deliver cutting edge coach education - sports governing bodies need to develop their recruitment, support and development plans for their coach education workforces. sports coach UK is currently working with all 31 UKCC sports to support the development of this in line with the Endorsement Criteria. sports coach UK recognises that the development of an individual learner is a process over time that needs supporting by a number of experiences – products, training events, people support, practical delivery etc. And in order to upskill and quality assure the coach education workforce, training provision needs to be addressed as a whole.
Staff at sports coach UK are currently working on a number of areas to aid the development of the coach education workforce including -
Internal Verifier Training workshops
sports coach UK has developed internal verifier training which leads to the 1st4sport qualification, The Certificate in Internal Verification Practice in Sport (CIVPS). The two-day training programme is available through your NGB and is suitable for experienced assessors. Both Coach Educator and Coach Assessor training have been devised to support the development of sports workforces. sports coach UK has been granted centre approval from 1st4sport qualifications to allow us to deliver the 'Certificate in Tutoring in Sport' (CTS) and the 'Introduction to Assessment Practice in Sport' (IAPS) . Both of these courses will provide a recognised qualification attached to their training programmes accredited by the QCA).

DVD
sports coach UK are offering the opportunity for sports to create DVD footage for use on Coach Assessor training programmes, ensuring standardisation of assessment in both the technical and generic skills of assessing.
National Trainer Pathway
To meet the growing demand from sport for training, sports coach UK has recruited a number of potential National Trainers and are developing a National Trainer recruitment strategy and pathway. As part of this project we will be looking at the development of training for Trainers.
